It's been a busy old month for me.
I reach the grand old age of 91 next month, Christmas Day to be precise. But still life shows no signs of slowing down. November 2009 was a busy old month for me when I recorded an interview with British Forces Radio which was broadcast to British troops all over the world on Remembrance day, the 11th November at 11 am. I was deeply touched that my interview was chosen to go out at that special hour.
In between two days of filming for Libros International I was also a live studio guest at FAB FM radio, had lunch with a movie director, lunch with two magazine competition winners and enjoyed a suckling pig dinner at Ta Casa restaurant in Alfaz with Libros ghost-writer Ken Scott, finance director Paul Body and head of distribution and sales Joe Gregory.
It was on November 15th that I also heard that Channel 5 Television in the UK gave the green light to filming a documentary about my life and book,'Do The Birds Still Sing In Hell' and in particular my times within the POW camps in Poland in WWII.
I also found out that independent TV Producer Irene Antoniades met with Libros Directors Ken Douglas and Simon Dent and outlined a programme to put me on a train at Valencia in Spain and film my journey returning to Posnan in Poland where I was interned in prison of war camps for five years during WWII. After much thought and a few reassurances and my insistence that I am accompanied by a very attractive 21 year old female nurse the entire journey, I have agreed to go. It is hoped that I will be making the journey in the spring of 2010. At the moment it's a little cold over there.
Next week also promises to be quite exciting as the shortlists are announced for The Costa Book Awards. Look out for my book 'Do The Birds Still Sing In Hell' in Thursdays national press. Fingers crossed....
Bye for now, cheers.

I'm reliably informed it's actually seventy virgins the suicide bombers expect to be given when they finally get to heaven.

Proposal:
Coming early 2010, the extraordinary story of Lise Kristensen - the Norwegian "Anna Frank" - taken prisoner at age nine along with her Mother, brother and sister by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1943.
A story of courage and inspiration as told through the eyes of a young girl.
All the best from Kris
